A WEIPA man has been charged after he allegedly killed a cow on a Cape York property last month.
Police charged a 57-year-old Nanum man with killing an animal with intent to steal, after an incident on June 23.
It will be alleged that someone on the property heard several shots from a firearm near the Peninsula Development Road at about 6pm.
The property manager then observed a vehicle driving off their property and an injured cow not far away.
Investigations were conducted as to the registered owner of the vehicle with police subsequently locating the man.
He was expected to appear in the Weipa Magistrates Court this week.
Meanwhile, a Napranum has been charged after an incident at a licensed premises in Weipa on Saturday night.
Police will allege the 24-year-old man was at a local venue at about 11.20pm when he approached a man known to him and punched him several times, causing a large fight to break out.
The man was charged with one count of creating a disturbance in licensed premises.
In Coen, police have charged a 25-year-old local woman with public nuisance offences after an incident that occurred in Coen on Sunday morning.
It will be alleged the woman attended an address on Kaanju Street at about 5am, yelling and swearing at residents before continuing to be abusive towards police.
The woman is expected to appear in the Coen Magistrates Court on September 13.
