Bloomfield Valley residents will have a chance to chat with Cook Shire Council staff and councillors in person with the council’s October meeting, and an informal meet and greet, being held in Bloomfield.
Council and its management team will head to the Bloomfield Community Hall on Tuesday 24 October for the monthly general meeting, which is open to the public, followed by a community meet and greet, with morning tea and light lunch provided.
Cook Shire Mayor Peter Scott said he loved travelling throughout the shire and being able to talk to residents in person.
“It’s just great to get down to one of the most beautiful parts of our shire and I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone and having a yarn and a snag,” Cr Scott said.
“I’m also excited to see progress on the Ayton boat ramp pontoon and celebrate a project council has been lobbying for for a long time with the community.”
The council meeting starts at 9 am, with an informal meet and greet at the conclusion of the formal meeting, with the whole day expected to be finalised by 1 pm.
