Grant Crossley was the best in a field of 15 battling for Dawnbusters pride in Weipa on 1 December.
Crossley and runner-up Peter Lamond both carded 47 off the stick after tackling on the Carpentaria Golf Club front nine, however, the former claimed the winner’s chocolates with a nett 14, three strokes clear of the latter.
Ross Craven and Viv Chan were the men’s and women’s long drive prize winners, with Jamie Hutton the week’s best with the short clubs and secured the nearest to the pin gong.
Chelsea Buckley took the Hoffman’s crown.
It was a tale of hellos and goodbyes when players returned to the clubhouse, with new Dawnbuster Tyler Nicholson completing his maiden round, and regulars Lamond, Kerry Boshammer and Chris Hamill putting away their clubs for the final time on a Sunday morning in Weipa.
Dawnbusters will take on the back nine on 8 December, with the first group getting away at 6am.
New golfers are invited to join the fray – just turn up at the clubhouse prior to tee off.
