GRAB your camp chairs and beanbags, outdoor movies are now on every Saturday night in Bloomfield, with a gold coin entry fee going back into local groups.
Bloomfield Cabins and Camping, with funding from Cook Shire Council, started the weekend family movie screenings in June and plan to continue for the rest of the tourist season.
“The aim is to provide entertainment for locals and our guests, with the gold coin donation going back into a local community organisation at the end of the season,” owner Kat Hewitt said.
Ms Hewitt and partner Yogi Noble took over the Bloomfield accommodation business in late 2021, rebranding it from Bloomfield Beach Camp to Bloomfield Cabins and Camping not long after.
“We have a big screen set up outside, people bring their own chairs and blankets, you can bring a picnic or dine in the restaurant or grab a takeaway pizza,” she said.
The movies coming up for this month are Latte and the Magic Waterstone on 8 July, Abominable on 15 July, Treasure Planet on 22 July and Ralph Breaks the Internet on 29 July.
Movies start at 6pm every Saturday, with the program advertised on the Bloomfield Cabins and Camping Facebook page.
