The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn in Kulla (McIlwraith Range) National Park from 13-14 June, weather permitting.

As a result of the planned burn, smoke may be seen in the nearby areas.

If visiting the national park, visitors are requested to observe all signs, barriers, and directions from QPWS rangers, and never enter closed areas.

Avoid driving through smoke where possible and be aware of firefighters working in the area.

Planned burns are highly weather dependent and generally require milder conditions and minimal wind.

Members of the public can stay up to date on the planned burn by using the Park Alerts feature on the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation website.
